    Abstract
    The purpose of this Note is to explore the topic of manifest disregard of the law as a continuing basis for vacatur of awards after the recent Supreme Court decision in Hall Street Associates, L.L.C. v. Mattel, Inc.1 In the first part this Note will examine the origins and historical application of the manifest disregard of the law standard of judicial review of arbitration awards. Secondly, the Note will discuss Hall Street and its prodigy in relation to current status of extra-statutory judicial review of US arbitral awards.
