Revisando diferentes opiniones sobre los posibles escenarios internacionales futuros

Abstract

El objetivo de este artículo es hacer un relevamiento parcial de los escenarios futuros del mundo, presentados por varios autores que conforman el mainstream de las relaciones internacionales. La interrogación sobre lo que vendrá representa uno de los desafíos para nuestra disciplina, que tiene esta cuestión dentro de su agenda de investigación. Para realizarla, hemos compilado una serie de textos de autores relevantes de la disciplina para poder responder, aunque sea parcialmente, las siguientes preguntas: ¿qué desafíos tendremos que enfrentar en el futuro? ¿Cuál es la dimensión de la transformación del sistema internacional a la que estamos asistiendo? De estas respuestas se analizará: cuántos escenarios posibles pueden imaginarse y cómo estarán determinados los países periféricos ante ellos. Aunque no esperamos resultados definitivos, creemos que los nuevos interrogantes que surjan nos servirán para seguir esbozando hacia dónde vamos.

The objective of this article is to make a partial survey of the future scenarios of the world, presented by several authors who make up the mainstream of international relations. The question of what is to come represents one of the challenges for our discipline, which has this question within its research agenda. To do so, we have compiled a series of texts from relevant authors in the discipline to be able to answer, even partially, the following questions: what challenges will we have to face in the future? What is the dimension of the transformation of the international system that we are witnessing? From these answers it will be analyzed: how many possible scenarios can be imagined and how the peripheral countries will be determined in front of them. Although we do not expect definitive results, we believe that the new questions that arise will help us continue outlining where we are going.
