dc.description.abstract | In Argentina the only president of the nation that had a sports policy was Juan Domingo Perón, during his first presidency –1946 – 1952–, second presidency –1952 – 1955–, and third presidency –1974 – 1976–. The work of his wife, Evita, who ran the Eva Perón Foundation and organized the Evita Championships allowed the regime to take the Peronist doctrine to individual homes through the sport practiced by the children. According to different ideologies, it has been considered that the purpose of the aforementioned championships was, either to give the destitute kids the possibility to compete sportingly and access to health controls; or, that it was just an attempt to control and indoctrinate children, in the style of Mussolini´s Balillas. This essay will try to analzyse both approaches in depth. | es |
