¿Qué son los estándares de derechos humanos?

Abstract

En este ensayo se busca definir el concepto de “estándares de derechos humanos”, estableciendo –en primer lugar– una distinción original entre derechos humanos y estándares de derechos humanos, para luego analizar la validez de ambos tipos de normas, teniendo en consideración la práctica de organismos internacionales y las nociones de universalidad y relativismo cultural.

This essay seeks to define the concept of “human rights standards”, establishing, in the first place, an original distinction between human rights and human rights standards. It then analyzes the validity of those two types of norms, taking into account the practice of international organizations and the notions of universality and cultural relativism.
