Abstract

The first part of this article was published in the N° 25 of Enfermería Neonatal, and it addressed the aspects related to the immunology of human milk (HM), this being a crucial question that grounds its choice as the first food option for both term and preterm infants. The mechanisms of transfer of immunological factors and the action of them in the microbiota were detailed. In this second part we present an innovative strategy in the optimization of the use of HM, such as the topication of the oropharynx with colostrum.
