Bladder exstrophy is a rare defect in the closure of the abdominal wall, within the exstrophy-epispadias complex responsible for the congenital malformation of the genitourinary system. It requires the assistance of the newborn in a specialized institution, given the specificity of the surgical-reparative treatment. The newborn and his family need monitoring and ac- companiment by a multidisciplinary health team from the moment of birth to adulthood, in order to achieve an adequate quality of life. This article addresses nursing care in the neonatal pe- riod, focused on biological, psycho-emotional and so- cial needs to guarantee a favorable evolution.en_US
