dc.description.abstractBasic notions of epidemiology are necessary to ana- lyze and define adequate prevention and containment measures at individual, regional and global levels during the COVID-19 pandemic. This article reviews the steps for a systematic approach to epidemic situa- tions with detail of the minimum epidemiological pa- rameters for this. It also offers an overview of the mul- tiple edges presented by a health crisis situation, the tools available and the questions that remain open.en_US
